New energy under the Internet of Things --- Charging pile integrated management system solutions

Abstract: According to the The electric car charging infrastructure development guidelines published in October 2015, by 2020, our country will build more than 12000 centralized power plant and more than 4.8 million decentralized charging piles, to meet the demand of the country's 5 million electric car charge. Charging pile industry is currently in an early stage of investment, but many irregularities, facilities distribution on the market, management is not perfect, and many other problems, cause the charge is inconvenient. This paper expounds the charging pile integrated solutions which bring the convenience of design for this problem.

But this is not an easy task, the urban land resource, project location, uneven distribution of power distribution facilities, users too difficult to find charging infrastructure has become the top problem of development of the charging pile. At one side is that many charging piles are idle, another side is that residents said is inconvenient to charge, as a result, charging pile integrated management system is needed.

Charging pile integrated management system (hereinafter referred to as the management system) is combined with the Internet of things and Internet, through the GIS, big data analysis and other emerging Internet form, integration terminal resources and then comprehensive display the integration of management system.

Here the emphasis on management system composition and working principle.

1, System Introduction

Management system can make unified management of each terminal equipment (such as the operation of the terminal information, terminal location, the terminal state information, etc.), and to handle all kinds of information integration analysis. Operations people remote operations management through the management system, combined with charging pile operation state, failure event, charging amount, fundamental data of charging pile terminal, thereby reducing operations cost, improve operational efficiency; And only through the App or WeChat public platform, based on the geographical location, can get the the information of the nearby charging pile, such as location, number of idle, waiting time, so as to alleviate or solve inconvenient problems.

2, The composition of the management system

Management system is mainly composed of five modules: basic data module, abnormal alarm module, statement analysis module, the position information module, communication module. Basic data module, the main function is to collect and store charging pile terminal acquisition of current, voltage, the accumulative charge, charge time, electric meter readings, the cumulative flow, used to monitoring equipment real-time state information; The abnormal alarm module's main function is to equipment data information by SMS, E-mail or App form such as push to inform the operations management staff, so that managers can timely screening and treatment for equipment fault information;

Analysis module's main function is to report the data through after the big data analysis model of comprehensive data, in the form of image statement or list to display; Location information module, the main function is to coordinate information reported to the management of charging pile platform, used to locate on the charging pile terminal equipment; Communication transmission module's main function is to use wireless communication technology, establishing charging pile data channel between terminal and management system, data security, stability, accurate transmission to the data server. 

2.1, Basic data module

Basic data module's main function is to collect current, voltage, the accumulative charging, charging time, electric meter readings, total flow rate and cumulative initial SOC, current SOC information, and transmit from the charging pile to the server management system through a router or DTU, using 2.5G/3G/4G wireless communication technology. The router and DTU is the core equipment of the wireless data transmission, the stability of equipment, network stability, high and low temperature environment, strong anti-interference and so on have strict requirements, so industrial-grade routers or industrial-grade DTU is required.

Data analysis system is recommended to adopt data clustering technology,  unified management of data according to the regional.

2.4, Location information module

Using GPS satellite positioning, charging pile location information can be intuitive show in GIS map. Facilitate the owner directly positioning. Owners through the App or WeChat public platform, based on the geographical location, can get the the information of the nearby charging pile number, charging waiting time and other information, so as to alleviate or solve problems of charging is inconvenient.


2.5, Communication transmission module

Wireless transmission system is the support of the data communication management system, all equipment state information, GPS positioning information, or remote maintenance instructions transmission are performed by the system.

Wireless communication technology including the GPRS, 3G, 4G, and industrial router also support wired and wireless backup, or dual SIM card backup, can satisfy the compatibility of different charging infrastructure and customization requirements.

3, Conclusion

In the era of intelligence, Internet of things is highly respected, its application is very extensive. Based on IoT mode of charging management system, providing personalized real-time online monitoring, safety control and positioning traces, alarm linkage, remote maintenance, security, online upgrade, statistics, decision support, such management and service functions, implementation of "things" of "high efficiency, energy saving, security, environmental protection" and "tube, control, camp" integration. Internet of things can bring our life more convenient, more mysterious and more intelligent experience.
