Currently, the main problems with national basic hydrological stations, water level stations, and rainfall stations are as follows:
The infrastructure of hydrological monitoring stations is old and non-standard, with damages and losses, which urgently need to be rectified and renovated.
Some hydrological monitoring stations have been in service for many years, with outdated equipment. Most of the hydrological data is manually collected and observed, which cannot achieve full-element, full-range, and fully automatic monitoring.
The information transmission technology of some stations is outdated, and there are problems with signal quality, untimely information reporting, and insecure storage and transmission of information.
Establish various hydrological observation sites in rivers, lakes and watersheds, deploy automated monitoring stations for hydrological elements, and rely on modern high-tech such as the Internet of Things, wireless communication, remote sensing, and telemetry.
